What are we learning?
Word Work
Our new 1st grade word wall words are: don’t, should, way.  We are reviewing these kindergarten words:  little, make, before.  This is week 22 on Spelling City.  We are also studying bossy r (er, ir).
Reading and Writing
We are continuing our work with personal writing emphasizing a lesson learned.  This week we draft our pieces.
Social Studies
Mrs. Hammons will start her next guidance series in our classroom and teach us about safety. Our first three lessons are on, “Good Touch, Bad Touch.”  She uses age appropriate language during her lessons, with the emphasis on letting kids know that anything that a person does that makes you uncomfortable should be reported to a trusted adult.  She will be sending home a letter that gives more information on this topic.
Math
We will study numbers.  We are working with number formation, number recognition, counting forward and backward, etc.
