Meet Mrs. Anderson

My Education
Growing up, I attended Crestwood Elementary, South Oldham Middle, and South Oldham High. I am thrilled to still be a part of Oldham County Schools! I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education at University of Kentucky, and achieved my Master of Science in Education and Reading Specialist License at Indiana University Southeast.  I became a National Board Certified Teacher last year.

My Classroom Experience
This is my tenth year of teaching, seventh at Harmony Elementary. My experience includes grades K, 1, 2, and 3.

My Interests
I enjoy staying busy in my free time - whether it be taking the dog for a walk, working on projects around the house, running errands, catching up on tv shows, or visiting with family and friends. I like to read, go on vacations (esp. to the lake or beach), shop, and play around on the computer. I have a terrible weakness for candy! I'm a neat-freak and actually enjoy cleaning the house and keeping everything in order or organized. I also like to do crafty things like make stationery and scrapbook. I love my job - so I often work on school stuff in my free time.

My Favorites:
color - pink
place - Maui, Hawaii
animals - dogs and cats
book - lots!  One of my favorites is Go Dog, Go!  It was the first book I learned how to read.
tv show - Modern Family
movie - any romantic comedy (much to Mr. Anderson's dismay)
music - anything by Dave Matthews
restaurants - Qdoba, McAlisters, Shogun, Mojitos
stores - Hobby Lobby, Target, Ann Taylor Loft
drink - sweet tea (especially from McDonald's - yum!)
food - shell macaroni (Nan's specialty)
candy - too many to choose! Twix, Reese's, Junior Mints, Rolos, Jolly Ranchers, Jelly Bellies

My Hubby
I'm the luckiest girl in the world.  This guy chose me to be his wifey.  He is everything the ladies want: handsome, funny, kind, affectionate, great with kids, and he even does his own laundry.  It's true!Jeremy owns a small landscaping business.  Did I mention he is a hardworker?  Everyone says opposites attract, but this isn't the case for us.  We are both very particular, OCDish, strongwilled, and independent.  We do have some differences - he is very adventurous and outdoorsy while I am sooo not daring and prefer the comforts of my own home.  Oh yeah, and Jeremy can do just about anything.  He is handy as all get out, has an amazing memory, and has a nack for trivia questions.  He's an amazing hubby and daddy and I'm so thankful he's mine.

My Baby Girl
My life changed forever on December 20th, 2011 - Miss Madelynne Rebecca was born.  She is the joy of my life.  I can’t get enough of her sweet little smile and chubby cheeks!  She has a bad case of the mommies and is a major momma’s girl.  Madelynne loves to play with toys, splash in the bathtub, and pet Winnie and Lucy.  She is growing up so fast…I keep telling her to slow down, but she doesn’t listen.  I feel so blessed to be Mady’s mommy!

My Pets
Lucy is my Chocolate Lab mix.  She was born on March 24, 2007.  She loves to take naps, get back and belly rubs (especially from her daddy), go on walks, and visit her Grammy and Gramps (and Bentley, too).  She can do lots of fancy tricks like sit, shake, high five, lay down, speak, and say please for a treat (which equals bark, but it’s still super cute).  We’ve contemplated getting another dog so she can have a companion, but we are afraid she’s set the bar too high and we will never be able to love another dog as much as we love and adore her.  She’s the best dog ever!

Winnie is my longhaired cat.  She was born on May 1, 1999.  She loves to meow, cuddle, take naps in the sun, and get face and belly rubs (especially from her mommy).  She misses her brother Tiger, but manages to get along with Lucy and makes the best of their relationship.  She’s the best kitty ever!
